Best foundation for oily skin prone to acne – And did I mention cheap too?
I have tried many ways to make my skin less brilliant, from home remedies such as using apple cider as a toner to the medical method as birth control pills. These methods make my skin a little less fat and shiny, but the excess oil was always there and always gave me a dirty feeling and I felt very unsafe at times. My skin was also very prone to acne, and even though I tried many over-the-counter products, my skin improved for only a short time and then the red, inflamed spots reappear like mushrooms. That's why I been very careful with the choice of makeup, including foundations. I always buy those who claim to be "oil free" and usually opt for medium to full coverage. I found a few good bases that break me and provide support and coverage enjoyable. Since I'm saving to return to the university again, I can not afford all brands expensive and upscale as Estee Launder, Shiseido, Lancome so I go for over-the-counter products to medium-term ones. Here are the best foundation for oily acne-prone for me:
Bourjois Foundation Light happy: Do not be fooled by the word "light" in the name, it's actually a medium coverage foundation. This foundation covers Bourjois in fact all my imperfections. I have mild acne with a few tiny red spots on my forehead (the place most oily) and the Foundation covers everything! I do not even use any concealer! Many people claim that this foundation is oily and can not be used on dry skin girls. I totally disagree. It feels great on my skin and is very easy to apply and even though my skin is just brilliant after about five hours, it is still large compared to many other high-end products. I can not find in any local store to normal I research and buy from eBay or StrawberryNet.
Everyday Minerals: this is my second holy grail! This is a mineral powder foundation and normally I buy it through their official website. The price is much cheaper compared to Bare Minerals. I used front and the coverage is much better too. He never broke and always gives me a smooth, velvet cover over. I look like I do not wear makeup at all with this foundation. However, with this foundation, I still use some concealer on any location and more visible.
Bourjois 10 hours Sleep Foundation: I love this foundation. I always use it when I did not need to look flawless. This is more of a tinted moisturizer, but still provides a fairly good coverage. It is very liquid, and as easy to spread. However, I do not recommend it if you live in a very hot and humid as it can make you look a little greasy after a few hours. To compensate for this, it gives a very natural coverage and I never broke! Normally I do not use moisturizer, except when the weather is very dry. I use no primer so I had a bad experience with it (most of them broke me). I usually only wear these foundations alone, and settle with Rimmel Stay Matte powder (I love this pressed powder as it does to break me, control the oil very property and $ 5 is a steal!).
So above are the best foundation for acne prone oily skin gal like me. For all those who mild to moderate acne, the bases above cover almost everything. But if you need heavier coverage, perhaps you need a little more concealer or other types of foundation. However, I would not recommend heavy coverage foundation at all, because they clog the pores and much more even cause cystic acne. I had these before and I knew they were such a pain!
