Any professional makeup artists out there?
How did you make your dream a reality (if like me you love makeup) and you knew you wanted to work with makeup as a living being? Have you had to start from the bottom, for example working at a cosmetics counter as a a vendor, start in a store like Sephora?
I have a good friend who is an M / U Artist and has received his training while in the industry modeling for a long period. This does not mean high visibility, high $ modeling is. There are many local models who are out there working the creation and expansion of their portfolios. Often, they will make captures TFP with local photographers, which means time for print (End of pre-digital world). The model is not paid for his / her work, but do not have to pay the photographer for his time and the model receives "Fingerprints" (now usually a CD of digital images) of the pictures taken. The model and the photographer more experience and images of their portfolios and expand their network connections. Often, it is also a need for makeup to be involved in this process. The M / U artist becomes more experience, exposure and can receive images from their portfolio as well.
