HELP! Teaching a class of personal image … with male students? PLEASE ADVISE MALES (women too)?
The class is usually taken by women. This is the first year the men have signed and now I have 5! I want to make sure that the class also concerns and remain interested. Fashion, fashion history, nails, hair and skin care are all major issues to help all students. Even men need to know about the latest news and fashion trends and what is considered beautiful / handsome / attractive. You can talk about similarities in the nail between the sexes. Skin care is different for boys, so you can get in comparison. I know that even at the middle school hair is a big problem for a lot of boys. They go to great lengths to make their hair a representation of what they are. Try to have fun with them and encourage their opinions.
