Belk Department Store Makeup

Is this true ring??
I received an early Christmas gift my boyfriend that I have personally selected. it was a hand Diamond Right-10K white gold ring that was purchased at a cost of about $ Belk Department store.it 450-500. I decided to do the "make up "test to see if it was real. (If you have the makeup u can slide the ring down ur face and leave it if its real dark band.) the ring that I got for Christmas has not left a dark patch, but my white gold ring has no other. they both printed 10k within bands. is the ring I got for Christmas real or not??? if so, why do not you leave a trail in makeup?? please help! Tricia b-if u have makeup on ur face u can drag ur ring through and if it leaves a black mark, it is …… Yes it was real gold and that if its true or not because I certainly do not want to pay $ 500 for a ring thats not true! Debbie-Thanks for answering, but claimed im not on the diamond is real … I wonder if it is real gold or not
Amy – I assume that your ring is real, because it has the imprint 10k within the band – it would be illegal for a jeweler to sell you a piece that has been incorrectly labeled (either because the wrong equipment or incorrect carats). Maybe because your cycle is 10 karat gold (which means it has a larger percentage of metal alloys mixed with pure gold, 14K, 18K and 24K gold), the test may not be effective (or actual) with a low carats of gold. I am sure if the ring was purchased from a reputable store that you bought exactly what you thought you did. Check in Within the tape again to see if the name of a country is also printed next to the marking 10k – another good indicator of quality jewelry. If you're still skeptical, call the jeweler who sold the piece to you and ask them if they have any verification that it is real, or perhaps if they know of another test, you can try. If all else fails, take it to another jeweler – they should be able to spot a fake and should be able to do so quickly and probably free. Hope this helps!
